Giving back matters to us

Big Hug

Our Big Hug charity initiative reflects the agency’s belief that generosity, community spirit and offering to help without being asked are essential characteristics. Since launching Big Hug in 2011, to celebrate PHD turning 21, PHD agencies have raised millions in donations and contributed thousands of hours to good causes around the world.

Every year we select a good cause to support in Hungary, too.

For example in 2013 the spotlight was on children with Down-syndrome. With the help of the Hungarian Down Association we organized a drawing contest for them named “Show me how big your heart is!” and received loads of heartwarming drawings. We then designed T-shirts and shopping bags, were selling them online and offered the raised money to the Association. But we didn’t stop there. As a finale to the program, we awarded 25 of the children with an adventurous day in Budapest, which was an uplifting and unforgettable experience for all of us. The day started with some sightseeing on a double-decker, followed by a delicious lunch sponsored by our client KFC, then PHD clowns entertained the children with balloon folding and glitter-tattoos, and our office was filled with big smiles and even bigger hearts. Finally we brought our little guests to the studios of the leading TV station (RTL Klub) where they could meet their favorite X-Factor singers as well as stars of the most popular Hungarian soap-opera, Barátok közt.

And we got the big hugs this time. 🙂
